We strongly believe that not all spices are created equal. Spices that are “fresh” and “high quality” seem to be ubiquitous but the ability to deliver spices that are actually of true distinction in freshness, quality and taste is both rare and a privilege.

True distinction is driven by premium quality and for us this means purity. Purity of spices goes way beyond organic, purity for us means looking at every factor along every step that contributes or impacts the freshness and flavor of spices and optimizing the same in a sustainable way. This level of purity guarantees the freshest flavor, longer than usual shelf life for our customers and redefines the ease with which you can experience an array of delicious flavours and culinary creations.
 

Grades of organic spices drive what we source and from whom. If we don’t carry it, chances are we haven’t found the grade we are happy with and that you deserve.
Access to quality control and provenance of ingredients is key when personally selecting the farmers and co-ops we work with. Click on the map below to view the different regions of the world the organic spices we offer come from or are developed in.

We have a checklist that all of our spices must pass in order for us to offer them: All of our spices must be certified organic, never irradiated, never fumigated, always Non-GMO and free from silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, citric acid and any other unnecessary non spice ingredients.
We only buy spices in small artisan type batches from recent harvests.
Preserving the delicate volatile oils is paramount to the freshness and premium quality of our spices and spice blends which is why all of our spices are hand harvested and any processing is minimized and temperature controlled to further preserve those vital oils.
Our Farm to Pantry promise supports the shortest journey time possible for the spices and minimizes environmental impact too.

Finding the right organic farmer is not easy! Only with a deep understanding about the spices, how they are grown and what determines their quality could we forge direct relationships with the right farmers and coops in the right countries to ensure the spices we buy are hand picked, in small batches, the best grade and from a recent harvest.

Many small hold farmers are unable to clean or conduct quality control testing on the spices required for export and so they are members of co-ops who will do this for them in a way that volatile oils are protected as much as possible.

As soon as the spices are received in our packing facility, they are packaged, further reducing exposure of the spices to air, heat and other contamination and excessive time sitting in bulk bags.
